Community Guidelines

1. Our Community and These Guidelines
EBLIT LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("EBLIT", "we", "us", or "our"), operates a peer-to-peer marketplace built on verified identity, honest listings, and safe exchanges. These Community Guidelines describe the standards of conduct that every person who uses the Platform ("you" or "User") is required to follow. They apply to buyers, sellers, and anyone who browses, messages, lists, or transacts on EBLIT. These Guidelines supplement, and do not replace, the Terms of Service, the Seller Agreement, and our other policies; where a term is defined in the Terms of Service, it carries the same meaning here. By using the Platform you agree to follow these Guidelines, and you acknowledge that VIOLATING THEM MAY RESULT IN STRIKES, SUSPENSION, PERMANENT ACCOUNT TERMINATION, AND, WHERE APPLICABLE, CIVIL OR CRIMINAL LIABILITY. Our goal is simple: a marketplace where people can trust who they are dealing with and what they are buying.
2. Who Can Use EBLIT
You must meet the minimum age requirement to use the Platform, and that requirement is set by the strictest applicable standard for your jurisdiction. The default minimum age is 18. In states where the age of majority is higher, the higher age applies: 19 in Alabama and Nebraska, and 21 in Mississippi. Age is confirmed through identity verification using the date of birth on the government-issued identification you present through Stripe Identity; we do not rely on self-reported age. By using the Platform you represent and warrant that you meet the applicable minimum age, that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding transactions, and that you are not barred from using the Platform under any applicable law. Attempting to bypass age or identity verification, or using another person's identity, is a serious violation and grounds for IMMEDIATE AND PERMANENT ACCOUNT TERMINATION.
3. Honest Listings
Trust on EBLIT begins with honest listings. When you list an item you must describe it accurately and completely, disclose all known defects and flaws, and use photographs of the actual item you are selling -- never stock images, borrowed photos, or images of a different unit. You must have the legal right to sell the item, and the item must not be stolen, counterfeit, fraudulently obtained, or subject to any lien or legal restriction on transfer. Every item on EBLIT carries a unique product identifier (such as an IMEI, VIN, or serial number). You must provide the true, unaltered identifier for the item you are selling. You may not remove, alter, forge, or misrepresent an identifier, and you may not list an item whose identifier has been tampered with. Each verified listing is bound to your verified identity through our proprietary FirmSecureHash ("FSH") system, which links ownership and provenance for fraud prevention. Misrepresenting an item, its condition, or its identifier undermines the entire community and WILL RESULT IN STRIKES, REMOVAL OF THE LISTING, AND POSSIBLE PERMANENT BAN.
4. Prohibited and Restricted Items
EBLIT is a general marketplace for lawful personal property, and certain categories are not permitted. You may not list, sell, or attempt to sell: firearms, ammunition, weapons, or weapon components; any regulated, controlled, or age-restricted category, including controlled substances, drugs and drug paraphernalia, tobacco, vaping products, and alcohol; adult content or services; stolen, counterfeit, or fraudulently obtained goods; hazardous materials; live animals; human remains or body parts; items subject to recall or export restriction; and any item whose sale would violate applicable law. Because EBLIT does not support the identity, licensing, or age-gating controls that regulated and age-restricted categories require, those categories are prohibited outright. Attempting to list a prohibited item, or to disguise one as something else, is a violation that MAY RESULT IN IMMEDIATE ACCOUNT TERMINATION and referral to the appropriate authorities.
5. Respectful Communication
Every person on EBLIT deserves to be treated with respect. When you message, negotiate, review, or interact with another User, you must communicate honestly and courteously. HARASSMENT, THREATS, INTIMIDATION, HATE SPEECH, AND DISCRIMINATION ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED. You may not discriminate against or harass any person on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic. You may not send abusive, threatening, sexually explicit, or unsolicited promotional messages, and you may not use the Platform to stalk, dox, impersonate, or endanger another person. Keep communication on the Platform: attempting to move a conversation off EBLIT to evade our protections, or pressuring another User to transact off-Platform, is itself a violation. Abusive conduct toward other Users or toward EBLIT staff is grounds for STRIKES AND ACCOUNT TERMINATION.
6. Fair Dealing
EBLIT works only when Users deal with one another in good faith. Sellers must honor their listings, complete transactions once a buyer has been selected and payment has been secured, and ship or meet as agreed. Buyers must intend to complete a purchase in good faith when they join a purchase waiting list, complete payment within the applicable payment window once selected, and follow through on scheduled meetups. You may not manipulate the waiting list, bid or commit without intent to buy, engage in price manipulation, or use multiple or fake accounts to gain an unfair advantage or to circumvent a suspension or ban. You may not file false disputes, make false claims, or abuse the dispute resolution process. All funds are held pending confirmation through our payment processor and are released only upon successful completion of a transaction; attempting to defraud that process is a serious violation. Bad-faith dealing undermines everyone and WILL RESULT IN STRIKES, SUSPENSION, OR PERMANENT BAN.
7. Meetup Conduct and Safety
For in-person meetup transactions, both parties agree to meet at the agreed location and time, to take the required verification photo when prompted after the location is agreed, and to complete the code exchange that confirms the transaction. At the meetup, EBLIT reveals each party's photo to the other; each party compares the revealed photo to the person present to confirm the correct party, and EBLIT separately scans the item's unique identifier. No government-issued identification is presented or scanned at the meetup. If you observe an identity mismatch, you must report it immediately through the Platform and must not proceed with the transaction; knowingly proceeding despite a mismatch, or failing to report one, is grounds for IMMEDIATE ACCOUNT TERMINATION. Regarding your personal safety, please read the following carefully: EBLIT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF USERS DURING MEETUP TRANSACTIONS; USERS ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY. We strongly encourage you to meet only in public, well-lit locations such as a police-station safe-exchange zone, a bank lobby, or a busy retail area during daytime hours; to bring a friend when possible; to tell someone where you are going and when you expect to return; and to trust your instincts and leave immediately if a situation feels unsafe. Never meet in an isolated location, never share sensitive personal information beyond what the transaction requires, and never let another party pressure you into an unsafe arrangement.
8. Shipping and Unboxing
For shipping transactions, sellers must package items properly, use the EBLIT-generated shipping label, and comply with all carrier requirements. Buyers are required to record an unboxing video when opening a delivered item. The unboxing video is important protection for both parties: it serves as binding evidence of the item's condition on arrival in the event of a dispute. IF YOU DO NOT RECORD A COMPLETE, CONTINUOUS UNBOXING VIDEO, YOU MAY FORFEIT YOUR RIGHT TO DISPUTE THE ITEM'S CONDITION. Record the package before opening it, keep the recording continuous from the sealed package through full inspection, and do not edit or cut the footage. Sellers may not ship an item that differs from the listing, ship an empty or substituted package, or misrepresent what was sent. Buyers must inspect the item honestly and raise any legitimate concern within the applicable dispute window. Attempting to game the shipping or unboxing process -- by either party -- is a violation subject to STRIKES AND ACCOUNT ACTION.
9. Review Integrity
Ratings and reviews help the community make informed decisions, and they are only useful if they are honest. You must base every review on a genuine, completed transaction and your real experience. You may not post fake, incentivized, or retaliatory reviews; you may not trade, buy, or sell reviews; you may not review your own listings through another account; and you may not threaten a negative review, or offer to remove one, to extract something from another User. Reviews must not contain harassment, hate speech, personal contact information, or content that violates these Guidelines. Manipulating the review system in any way distorts trust across the marketplace and WILL RESULT IN REMOVAL OF THE OFFENDING REVIEWS, STRIKES, AND POSSIBLE ACCOUNT TERMINATION.
10. Reporting Violations
If you encounter a listing, message, review, or User that violates these Guidelines, please report it through the Platform's reporting and support tools. Reports help us keep the community safe, and we review them in the order and priority we determine appropriate. When you report, provide accurate information and any relevant details, such as the transaction number, listing, or message involved. Reporting in good faith will never count against you. However, SUBMITTING KNOWINGLY FALSE OR ABUSIVE REPORTS, or using the reporting system to harass another User, is itself a violation of these Guidelines and may result in action against your account. If you believe someone is in immediate physical danger, contact your local emergency services first.
11. Enforcement and the Strike System
EBLIT enforces these Guidelines using a graduated system that is intended to be proportionate to the conduct. For many violations we apply strikes to an account, and repeated or serious violations escalate the consequences. In general, a first violation may result in a warning or a strike; a second strike results in a 7-DAY SUSPENSION of selling and buying privileges; and a third strike results in a PERMANENT BAN of the account. Active strikes expire after twelve months provided no new strike is issued during that period; permanent bans are not subject to strike expiry. Certain severe violations -- including fraud, identity misrepresentation, listing prohibited items such as firearms or regulated goods, GPS spoofing or circumventing location verification, threats or violence, and creating accounts to evade a ban -- may result in IMMEDIATE PERMANENT TERMINATION WITHOUT PRIOR STRIKES. Selling-side and buying-side conduct are tracked independently, and enforcement takes into account the nature, severity, and history of the conduct. EBLIT determines enforcement outcomes in its reasonable discretion based on the available evidence, and enforcement actions do not relieve you of liability for any harm your conduct caused. Enforcement decisions do not limit any other remedy available to EBLIT or to affected Users under the Terms of Service or applicable law.
12. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time as the Platform and our community evolve. Changes take effect when we post the updated version and revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Guidelines. If you do not agree to the updated Guidelines, you must stop using the Platform.
